The Graduation Regalia Crowdfund is a fundraising event from January 18 – 25. Our goal is to build an endowment fund to provide regalia for all Lawrence graduates.
Before 2020, Lawrence asked its graduates to pay for their own graduation regalia. However, the Lawrence University Alumni Association (LUAA) Board of Directors changed that. What started in 2020 as a response to the global pandemic has now become a tradition – a tangible and meaningful way to welcome each graduating class into the alumni family. For this to happen, each year we would have to raise between $5,000 and $7,500 to support this.
As we celebrate our 175th Anniversary, we hope to solidify this tradition, so that no Lawrence graduate for the next 175+ years will have to worry about paying for their regalia. We are asking you to make a gift to establish a Regalia Endowment Fund so that we can provide caps, tassels, and gowns to our graduating seniors forever. Once this endowment fund is fully funded at $100,000, this tradition will be set to support our graduates each year.
Our goal is to rally 175 donors to make a donation of any size to support this cause as we just entered the 175th Anniversary year for Lawrence. We hope you can help us kickoff this endowment fund!
